  • Qualifications & Credentials

    • Minimum of Four (4) Year College/University Degree in Music Therapy (Accredited by the American Music Therapy Association)

    • Completion of an AMTA approved Music Therapy internship

    • Achieve and maintain Board Certification status through CBMT

    • Intent to begin Master’s program as a step toward state licensure as an LCAT is a plus

    Position Description:

    • A Fulltime position is 40 hours per week, which includes travel time.

    • Must commit to a complete, full school year, with resignations only accepted 30 days prior to the end of the school year or prior to the new school year (per agreement signed upon hire).

    • Must secure and maintain reliable transportation.

    • Therapist will follow all guidelines and use all forms provided in the HCT Handbook dedicated to detail in all work.

    • Therapist is responsible to provide direct and/or consultative music therapy services, assessments to individuals, and groups who have various disabilities, as assigned by the Director. 

    • Therapist will create schedule for assigned client caseload.

    • Therapist is responsible to create & compile session material for direct and consultative sessions.

    • Responsible for all written documentation as listed in the HCT Handbook.

    • Manage time to complete all position responsibilities. 

    • Attend HCT staff meetings and assigned client meetings.  

    • Demonstrate initiative through active participation in supervision, staff meetings, and while interacting with other professionals by engaging in conversations, sharing thoughts, ideas, and/or asking questions

    • Present to agency staff, community groups and at conferences when appropriate.   

  • Qualifications & Credentials

    • Master’s Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from an accredited program

    • Completion of 1500 contact hours under a qualified LCAT supervisor

    • Achieve and maintain licensure in Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT) through the NY State Office of Professions

    • Achieve and maintain Board Certification status through CBMT (music therapists) or ATCB (art therapists)

    • A minimum of one year working with individuals with mental health challenges.

    Position Description

    • Must secure and maintain reliable transportation.

    • Therapist will follow all guidelines and use all forms provided in the HCT Handbook dedicated to detail in all work.

    • Therapist is responsible to provide direct and/or consultative mental health counseling services and assessments to individuals and groups, as assigned by the Director. 

    • Therapist will maintain communication with clients’ families, healthcare teams, and educational teams, as indicated.

    • Therapist should have strong skills in the areas of music and/or art, clinical insight, creative thinking, and working with all types of personalities and teams.

    • Therapist will create and maintain a schedule for assigned client caseload.

    • Therapist is responsible for creating & compiling session material for direct and consultative sessions.

    • Responsible for all written documentation as listed in the HCT Handbook.

    • Manage time to complete all position responsibilities. 

    • Attend HCT staff meetings and assigned client meetings.

  • Qualifications & Credentials:

    • Minimum of Four (4) Year College/University Degree in a field related to music/art education and/or therapy

    • Experience working with individuals with special needs

    • Strong skills in the areas of music and art proficiency, creative thinking, and working with all types of personalities and teams

    Position Description

    • Facilitator will follow all guidelines and use all forms provided in the HCT Handbook dedicated to detail in all work.

    • Facilitator will be responsible for planning and conducting enrichment classes based on the individual’s need and level of ability, as well as maintaining communication with the family to ensure the class content is targeting the interests of the individual. 

    • Facilitator will create schedule for assigned client caseload.

    • Facilitator is responsible to create & compile session material for direct and consultative sessions.

    • Responsible for all written documentation as listed in the HCT Handbook.

    • Manage time to complete all position responsibilities. 

    • Attend HCT staff meetings and assigned client meetings.  

    • Demonstrates initiative through active participation in supervision, staff meetings, and while interacting with other professionals by engaging in conversations, sharing thoughts, ideas, and/or asking questions

    • Present to agency staff, community groups and at conferences when appropriate.
